receiving EI and grant for upgrading skills while sponsoring a relative

Hello
My wife and I are sponsoring my mother and brother in law under the Humanitarian and
compassionate case and they now have the AIP. My wife was recently laid off and she want
to apply ofr a Human resources grant.. Would that affect the application? I am cosigner
and I keep working all the time, that makes more than what they require. but they said in
the letter that my mother in law should not receive social assistance or Welfare... I hope
that does not include my wife's EI ... When she was on maternity leave there was no
problem, and I didn't even think about it....
