Pleased to inform you all with August 04 AOR, we received our Medical requests and updated Police Cert request.
Thumps up to the staff at CHC London, they have been working very hard to get through the back log as I note everyday someone is receiving their meds and or PPR's.
It has been 30 months since we applied, but I must say it was well worth the wait!.
I have a question on whether I should renew my 5yro's passport which is due to expire June 2008 before I send it to CHC when they send the PPR's.
Secondly since the passports are stamped with the PR visa's what happens when our UK passports expire while we are in Canada and we have not yet obtained our Canadian citizenship.
Would we have to send the new UK passports to the Canadian authorities in Canada to have them restamped with PR Visa. How does this work?
Thanks to everyone for the valuable support and advice you gave to many of my posts.

Nothing to worry. PR visa is a single entry visa - once you land it is used up. You will get PR Cards as proof of PR status.

Many thanks Mr Miller for clearing the passport renewal question. Also I must convey my thanks to you for the advice you gave me to my previous posts.
I shall be recommending you to any prospecting candidates I may come into contact who might be looking to hire a immigration lawyer.

In order to do this, you need to make an appointment at a passport office and you must provide an address in the UK to which the passport may be posted. You should call 0870 521 0410 to make an appointment.

As such you will be a Non-UK resident so to renew your passport you will have to fly back to the UK and apply in person

Yeah you just send it to the British High Commission to renew it. It's easy.

Yes that is what I thought too, but would need to check for non-UK residents as to what rules apply. Surely one wouldn't need to fly to the UK to get the passports renewed.
Just be on the safe side I will get my daughters passport renewed for another 5yrs and inform CHC of the change and send it for the PR visa's to be stamped on the new passport.

You can get your passport renewed at the British HC in Ottawa, in person if you'd like a weekend away or you can post it off if you have the time. Our friends did this last year.
Fly back to the UK to collect a passport - don't think so.
