Default Re-issue of work Permit

My wifes UK passport has just been renewed. Her Work Permit ran out with her old passport. Because of my work Permit, she will easily get her "re-issued Work Permit but we need to go over the border to come back into Canada to get it.

Does anyone know if we can simply cross over to the States and come back in immediately or do we need to do an overnight (24hr etc) turnaround.

Thanks in advance

No need to stay overnight just pop across for lunch or gas then turn around unless you don't want to pay $6 each for the I94 waivers that would be valid for 90 days. Make sure to take your work permit. CBSA may charge you the $155 for a new work permit as the other expired. Be nice to them they may overlook this.

Thanks for the help, my permit is stapled in my passport anyway so no chance of forgetting it. We might still stay a few nights as a short break.
