Default Re-entering USA, after landing as a PR in Canada.

I got permanent residence visa for Canada and needs to land before June 1.

Here in US I am on J-1 visa which has been expired, although my IAP-66 is valid till
April 2003.

I also have job in USA and so want to come back after landing in Canada.

Can any body tel me if there may be any problem on re-entry to usa. I hold passport
from Pakistan.

Visa revalidation seems to have expired. I don't know if the IAP helps.

BUT, your landing in Canada could be considered void unless you return to Canada
fairly promptly. Landing is NOT JUST getting the papers processed. It is also
establishing residence in Canada. If you do not establish residence fairly soon
after, you could be considered not to have landed at all!

Not completely. The INS has tightened the rules, but basically the two groups
are targeted:

(a) citizen of "terrorism-sponsoring" countries;
(b) people who actually re-applied for a US visa at a US consulate in Canada or
Mexico, and were refused.

See the update (effective April 1) at http://travel.state.gov/tcn.html

Check at your I-94, what is expiry date there, if it is valid untill 4-2003 as on
IAP-66, there is chance to be allowed to re-enter in USA if you are still in
school/under training period. Otherwise you can tell that you want to settle your
stuff and want to go back for a while. I dont see any more reason to be acceptable
for going back.
