Quick questions about the the application forms.......

Hi everyone - nice to be here! I'm new to the group and have a lot of
questions (which I'll post once I have searched the archive
sufficiently!) so please be patient! I have just given up trying to
get answers out of the Canadian Commission in London; I don't know why
I didn't try this newsgroup in the first place! Ah, the benefit of
hindsight...

Are there any recommended guidelines for what to put in the statement
proving your training and use of the English language? I have
mentioned my GCSE qualifications, writing university theses, project
presentations at work etc.

I went to Vancouver on a student exchange programme for 3 months
during the summer of 1995 through the British Universities North
American Club (for which I was treasurer of the Southampton Uni
Branch) - would this help my application at all and if so where should
I mention it?

What is a notarized photocopy and how I would go about getting such a
copy for my passport, qualification certificates, work references,
etc?

What is a degree transcript? Is it the same as a degree certificate
awarded at the successful completion of a degree?

Many thanks

Ben
