questions BC PNP
hi, my name ist Sabine. my husband Jochen and me live in the US (on a work visa)
since 20001. now Jochen got a job offer in BB. we read about the BC PNP and have some
questions the website couldn't answer:
1. can we enter Canada and then have the employer apply for the program from?
2. is there a chance that a certified German Chef gets approved for the program? the
job offer is for a German restaurant (sous-chef, prospective head chef)?
3. if everything gets approved, would Jochen get a work authorization right away? Or
4. would he then have to file for PR with CIC first?
5. would I as his wife get an employment authorization also? thanks for your
help, Sabine

Re: questions BC PNP
BC's PNP is only designed for those who want to move permanently to Canada, not
for work permit seekers. If your intention is PR visa, then you won't get a work
permit after PNP certificate is granted. A Chef is not a strategic occupation
with persistent and critical shortage of workers, so I don't see any chance for
BC PNP here.
On the other hand your husband may probably have a very good chance for regular work
permit and apply for PR status later.
You may contact me directly for free evaluation of your chances and options.
