Default question on work permit

hello,

I need some clarification from our immigration gurus regarding work permits. I am currently in Canda on a visitor's visa and am thinking about applying for a work permit.

Is there any law that says I can't apply for a work permit while in Canada? I've seen conflicting posts on different websites regarding this so any info will be much appreciated.

Yes, law allows to apply for work permit inside Canada only those who are here on valid study or work permit or as dependent spouses of study or work permit holders.

You need to apply for work permit through proper visa post abroad.

does this mean that while I am on a visitor's visa here in Canada I can not apply for a work permit?

You are asking the same thing only in different form and the answer is still the same - NOPE, you can't, period. You must apply for work permit outside Canada, if approved you'll get approval letter and with such you will be issued work permit at Canadian port of entry.
