Default Question re Timeline for spouse

I am sending this on behalf of a friend who does not have access to this
newsgroup.

My friend is Canadian and will be marrying an American next month. He is
going to relocate to Canada via Buffalo. Does anyone know what the time
line would be? How long from the time they fill out the papers to when he
can move here and get a work visa? Can someone suggest the shortest
possible way to go about this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Tell your friend to look at: www.cic.gc.ca under spousal sponsorship.
Pretty well all the answers are there.

Is it faster to apply from within canada? or should they start the process
now before they are married and while he resides in the united states?

THe process is not available to fiances unless they are also common-law
spouses. THere is a lot to do and consulting the CICs website would be time
well spent.
