Default Question re. Family Class processing time

Can anyone indicate the current approximate processing time for Family Class
sponsorship (parents) through the Trinidad & Tobago visa post?

Thanks in advance.

Anywhere between 8 and 18+ months. But your parents must be nationals (or be
lawfully admitted to for at least a year) of one of the following countries to
be eligible to apply through CHC Port of Spain - Anegada, Anguilla, Antigua and
Barbuda, Barbados, Bequia Island, British Virgin Islands, Canouan Island,
Carriacou Island, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jost Van Dyke, Mayreau,
Montserrat, Mustique, Nevis, Redonda, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Thomas, St.
Vincent, Suriname, Tortola, Trinidad and Tobago, Union Island.

Thanks for this prompt response. Would it be correct to assume that this
covers the time required for processing of both the application for
sponsorship and the application for the visa itself (which are apparently
separate processes)?

Additionally, is there a minimum period of time for which one must have
worked in Canada before submitting a sponsorship application (e.g. 12
months)?

Thanks in advance once again.

Hello,
I have applied for the Canadian Immigration under the Skilled worker Category on August 28th 2002, my application was recieved by the Buffallo Consulate on Aug 30th 2002 as per the courier records.
I havent recieved any reciept from the consulate for my application as yet, Any one have any idea how long does it takes to get the reciept??
I also called the consulte, but I guess they dont entertain any inquiry requests over the Phone....

Thanks

under the current backlog, you should tack on anywhere between 4 and 8 months for the sponsorship approval...

no there is no set time limit that you should be working, provided you are able to meet the income requirement...

for example, if the minimum required to sponsor is 35k CDN, and your employment pays you 6k CDN a month, you can sponsor after 6 months of employment itself...

No, the time I mentioned covers only processing in visa post. Approval of your
application to be a sponsor may take another few months.

No, there is no minimum time - but there is minimum income required to be
earned in Canada within 12 months prior to sponsorship.
