Default Question for Mr. Miller

Dear Mr. Miller,

You mentioned that things are slowly but surely speeding up in the
visa posts. Do you mean that the PR application cases in Skilled
Worker category are taking less time now? Last heard it was taking 3
months to get the receipt and more than a year to get a decision on
the case. After that it was taking another 6 months to a year to get
police clearance and medical exams done. How long are the cases filed
in Buffalo taking these days?

Thanks,
Juan

You may try but you won't really know how much time you have till the
assessment stage as things are slowly but surely speeding up in all
visa
posts. You'll be gambling - your initial assessment may happen
anytime.

Nobody can tell you exactly how long it will take and how much faster cases
will be completed during next 12 months compared to past 12 months. But we
see signs of speeding up in most visa posts - some, less overloaded are
speeding up substantially, why others that are hugely overloaded (Buffalo,
New Delhi, Beijing, Colombo, etc.) are speeding up at much slower pace.
