Question on the immigration form

Hello,

I am just starting to research the possibility of emigrating from the UK to
Canada and wonder why the form asks for details of everywhere I have lived
since the age of 18. I am 53 now, so am going to have to think very hard
for some of this info. I could understand if it was for criminal record
checks, but prospective immigrants are also required to provide a
certificate of good character from the police force - so does anyone know
why the place of residence information is requested?

It's just to tie it all together - proving that you are who you say you
are and not some other Sue K who might be a bank robber from Skegness.
Remember that you proof of good character is not all that is involved in
the security check.

It's for your background check, looking for terrorist affiliations and crimes you may not have been charged for but suspected in.

Don't leave any gaps in your history.

I don't know what kind of application you are doing, but my wife's
application only asked for the last ten years. Double check, it could save
you a headache.

Application for PR ask for info since 18th birthday. The issue is
more determooing the countries in which you lived as opposed to street
addresses.
Do your best and if you have brain fade at 53 just indicate that some
of the dates and addresses are approximations and are to the best of
your knowledge.
