Default Question on family sponsorship

To experts:

My wife and I are planing to land in three months. The question is whether we should bring our two-year-old son this time, or later we sponsor him after we are settle down. It is a long journy for a little boy and we also may face uncertanty.

However, the CIC website indicates that if we sponsor a dependant under age of 22, we have to support him/her for 10 years. What does this mean?

Does this mean that we have to pay everything, such as education cost and health bill (may have to pay extra)? and he will be treated differently in many circumstances?

Thanks for your thoughts.

No, I think it just mans that he would not be able to claim for housing benefit or unemployment money. But that wouldn't affect a 2 (or 12) year old anyway. You would be entitled to education for him, just like any other parents living in Canada.
