I have a friend who has applied through Buffalo(recieved AOR), His occupation is
buyer, I am not sure if that is in the occupation list, he certainly knows its there.
His family had got immigration about 8 years ago, my friend did become landed with
his brothers and parents, although the 2 brothers stayed, he and the parents returned
back I was talking to him today and told him what if he was refused, he said he would
appeal, and he said he would be in his favour as he is the last member of the family
so he has to get immigration. I wasn't sure of this term (last member of the family)
and he said its in the family sponsorship.

Now, he has applied as Independant, if he is refused, can he appeal on the basis of
this so called "last member of the family" taking into consideration the family
connection etc, and in addition, having previous landed status go in his favour. He
did not voluntarily leave canada, he was a minor.

Thanks for any advices and ideas

There is such thing as Last Remaining Family Member under humanitarian = or
compassionate considerations. As it is not part of the Act or = Regulations, he is
not likely to win on appeal per se. He is best = served by presenting the case in its
entirety including all the = circumstances of the case.

To wait for a refusal and then to appeal is the wrong way to go. IMHO

It may be a good idea to get a little counselling first.
