Default Quebec Ontario Case : Need advice

Hello all,

We are in Canada on work permit specific to our employer who is based in Toronto, ontario. Actually I am in IT and I need to visit my clients in Montreal for short term project ( say 4-5 months). In this case do I need to apply for Quebec work permit or CAQ? Also my PR application is in process, so my application of CAQ affect FSW2 PR application?

Please advice.

Thanks.

You are still working for the same employer in TO, just being sent to Montreal for a job right? Still paid by the TO employer?

You dont need to do anything.

Thanks a lot. Yes, working for same employer in TO. Paying taxes in ON and my perm address is also in ON. Just moved to Montreal on temporary basis to finish project.

Actually this question arise as I am in process of lease take over of one car. Dealer is not happy to re-lease of car for reamining 5 months on my ON licence. Also insurance company making excuses. I can exchange my ON licence with QC but then legality came in picture. I was confused..

Cant you just use an Ontario plated car there for a few months?

There are a lot of Quebec plated cars around here...military people transferred into the area at a guess. must work both ways?

Maybe ask in the main Canada area about the car thing?

yeah, exploring that option. need to pay a little higher insurance but less fuss than applying CAQ.

4-5 months may not be seen as "short term". I would recommend a consultation with an immigration lawyer.
