Default Proof of Work Experience

A am applying for Permanent Residency under the Skilled Worker Class.

I am unable to obtain a copy of an employment contract from a previous
employer. The company went bankrupt a few years ago. I've manager to contact
the old Personnel Officer who can write a reference letter and describe my
work experience for the company. I also have her business card. This is the
best I can do. It is essential for points that I can count this experience -
what can I do? The requirements for London applications state that you need
a reference letter and a copy of an employment contract - will my
application be immediately rejected if I don't include a copy of my
contract?

I have no problem with the evidence for the majority of my work experience
(3 + years experience as a Software Engineer). Can you claim work experience
under two separate categories? I have experience as a Electronics Technician
(this is the experience I'm having difficulty with) and a Software Engineer.

Thanks.

Hi Andy, we had exactly the same headache with a number of companies. What you have should be enough but one way of proving you worked somewhere is to write to the National Insurance people in Newcastle and asking for a statement under the Data Protection act which lists all your NI conts and the companies who made them. At least it'll prove you worked there and got paid by them. I don;t know the answer on your second point though, sorry.
