I've read that you have to show "proof of funds" as part of the application process for a permanent visa by sending a bank statement showing the required amount. Surely individuals could just borrow the money, put it in the bank, get a statement and then pay the lender back. I'd imagine some other form of proof is required. Does anyone know what proof is required?
Thanks
Thanks

I believe it is best to attach more than one month's statement.
Normally, you would want to provide statements from the past 6 months, as
well as pay stubs showing your source of income.
What CHC wants to look at is a sustained income, and not borrowed money or
windfall gains.
Which is why they often ask for an updated statement and proof-of-funds
towards the end of the process.
