Default proof of funds

Can I use the last few monthly account statements from my
bank as a proof of funds for the purpose of landing ?

Yes and no - as all depends from the country your bank and account is. If it
is bank in Canada, US, UK and other countries where there is no restriction
of any kind on funds transfer abroad then you should be fine with current
bank statement supported by the printout from ATM machine made the same day
you are landing. But remember that examining officer at the port of entry
doesn't need to accept it and s/he doesn't need to know financial
restrictions in your country.

Mr. Miller I had a question on bank statement. When CHC asks for updated bank information, is it ok to have a statment submtted from a new bank account. I am trying to put all my money in one account and open a new account as 2 of my accounts are joint accounbts.

Yes, but bear in mind that it may be questioned as it may be an indication
that you don't really have the money and are just using borrowed funds every
time you are asked for proof. So, make sure that you can demonstrate that
money in the new account came from your other accounts, not from some
unknown source.
