Processing has started 3rd of Feb.
I have sponsored my husband and we have sent, in Canada application for permanent residency last October. E-cas status tells me that application processing has started February 3. Any idea when we should hear back from immigration and maybe getting my husband his residency. Is the new rule going to speed up the process? We’re both going crazy, he is not able to work. He has become a bum!

Re: Processing has started 3rd of Feb.
New policy has nothing to do with processing times.
See here to find out what are the current timelines for in Canada spousal cases: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/departm...rocess-in.html

Re: Processing has started 3rd of Feb.
At the moment processing chart tell me that they are processing applications received up to September 9th. What does it really mean?
That they are processing applications received before September 9th. Why is our application being processed already, are we just lucky? Or does it mean that applications sent by September 9th are being approved/denied and we would be getting our approval/denial in a month? It is so confusing to me. I appreciate you feedback. |

One more question.
First stage approval? Can you tell me, under what circumstances cases don’t receive first stage approval at CPC Vegreville and are transferred to local office? I assume that would make the process longer? |
Re: Processing has started 3rd of Feb.
Once application is received and file created then it is "in process". It doesn't mean that they are working on it and you jumped to the frond of queue.
First stage of approval in inland cases means approval in principle - for many final decision is made within days from AIP while for some it takes few months to over a year to complete the process.

Re: Processing has started 3rd of Feb.
I've been through similar process recently, still waiting for completion of process. I heard from CIC Mississauga within 6 weeks of posting my completed application, and then from Quebec as that's my destination. CHC London has only ever responded to one of my requests for a status update.
They started processing my app in Nov 2004 according to e-client. Hope this info helps. PS. I am officially the bum in my household too... He has my sympathy! |
