Process if application is in process but work permit granted.

Hi,

I was hoping someone could please advise on what happens if you get a job offer in Canada whilst your application as a skilled worker is being processed.
How would you inform the embassy and does it make any difference to the time it takes to process your application?

Thanks

WP alone won't help. You need to start working in Canada in skilled occupation and get offer from employer to convert your current temporary employment to a full time, permanent position on indeterminate basis after you become a PR.

After you have proof of employment and offer you can upgrade your simplified application (I just assume you filed simplified form as you didn't state) by submitting full, standard application package with all forms and supporting evidence and ask for expedited processing. If all is done properly and everything conclusively proven you may expect your PR case being fast tracked. It is just a nutshell - it is little bit more complicated or much more complex, depending from your individual circumstances.

Hi Shelby,

We have been in Canada since Feb 07 on a TWP. I don't think our application was "fast tracked" one bit. Maybe they selectively fast track, as I have read about other peoples WP helping the PR move faster.
My husband applied for the TWP Dec 06, we sent update forms etc in Jan 07and we didnt hear anything back from the CIC until Oct 07 when we had our medical requests, and finally now we have been asked to pay the PR fee so it looks like we are here to stay!
Not sure after a year if thats classed as fast tracked, hope you have more success than us!!!

hi Clare

The current estimate for Skilled Worker through London with no arranged employment is 5 years plus. I would say a year to your current position is a quite healthy fast track.

Good luck to you.

Our AOR was Feb 2005 with an estimated time of 21 months so it has exceeded the months by far, thats why we feel it hasn't seen a fasttracking!!
We would probably still be in the queue if my husband hadnt got a WP I am sure.
Its not to much fun waiting 3 years let alone 5 but the quality of life is worth waiting for! Hope your applications go well:)

If you updated file in January '07 but are in Canada on work permit since February '07 and you didn't send proof of employment and permanent job offer after starting working then visa post didn't have anything to use as arranged employment and fast track your application. LMO or even approval of work permit application are not valid proof of arranged employment. In your case you should have updated file after start of work in Canada.

Your case was processed within average timeline for cases with similar AOR date.
