"In Process"

Hi guys,

In the context of an application, what does the "in process" step actually mean? Does that mean that a visa officer is actually looking at your doc's and in the process of verifying etc?

Thanks :)

Re: "In Process"

Ours said 'In process' from the date they recieved our application, before we received the AOR saying they would look at it in 42 - 48 months. So I guess it just means they have received it and put it in the system. We didn't hear again for almost two years (but we are old queue). It stayed at that level until they put the visas in the passports, then it changed to 'Decision made'. Some get an update when the meds come in. I wouldn't put to much emphasis on it - it's all a bit woolly.

In regards to the system under which you are being processed, "In Process" tends to mean that you should receive your med requests about 4 - 6 weeks after your status changes to "In Process".

Hey rubberduck

Would like to track your progress as we also dropped our full docs / applciation for FSW PR first week of August 2010. Can't really understand why these people have been on the go since 2007 and 42 months wait (???!!!). We are Vancouver bound hopefully end of 2011 once jobs resigned and house sold. We have a recce booked for 4th Nov to go out and holiday / investigate job opps and places to live. Plan is to sell house here and leave bulk of money on deposit for a yr in uk while we acquaint with vancouver and wait for exchange rate to recover hopefully. We are hoping med requests come before Nov 4th when we go out so we can book them in.

Let us know when you have a response and I will do likewise. Praying neither of us gets app returned with item(s) missing.

Sure thing!

I'm hoping that we'll get PR and we'll leave for Canada in June/July of 2011.

Good luck! :)

Our's has said "In Process" before it got to London. CIO Sydney put that status on it, and it has been there ever since, with a break down of what they did with it. Last comment being:

We transferred your application to the London England office on March 30, 2010. The London England office may contact you.

So not sure what that all means.

Once London start processing it,it should state "We started processing your file on (INSERT DATE) - 4 -6 weeks after this date is usually when your medical requests will land on your doormat :0) (or in your postbox if you don't have a letter box...lol)

That's the one - had they required more info they would have requested it at this stage before it moved onto the "started processing" stage.

Ooh how fab for you! Though now you will be stalking the postie in about 4 weeks time..lol

AmyDavid,
really? WOW. I thought that in process meant that they had just picked up our file after all this time.
Have our backgrounds checks, points been calculated, degrees been validated then etc?
