Default Problem with spouse name

Hi everyone,

My wife's name is AAA and her surname is BBB, but in her passport the surname section is blank and the given name is written altogether as AAA BBB, could it be a problem for getting the PR visa or it should be ok.

Plz advise

Thanks in advance..

It will definitely have an impact on a US visa if your wife was to go for one (will have 'FNU' typed under Given Name, and 'AAA BBB' under Surname); as far as a Canadian PR visa goes, it depends on how her name has been stated on any past applications (are you and your wife already in Canada? If yes, how did you mention her name on the form while applying for a TRV?). Keep it the same on the PR application form too.

I am in a similar situation, and have always written my first name as AAA and surname as BBB on any applications (TRV, LMO, Work Permit, PNP and PR) - haven't had any problems.

If she is not in Canada yet, and this would be her first ever application, get her name on the passport corrected, to prevent any potential problems/delays later. If still in any doubts, I'd advise you to contact a professional - Andrew Miller perhaps.
