Default PR visa - passport question

When London requests your passports for the PR visa, do they have to be valid for a minimum length of time?

My daughter's first 5 year passport will expire in March 2009. Will there be any problem if I have to send it to London in the next few months or should I get it renewed first?

Thanks.

They will not issue an immigrant visa with a validity date beyond the passport validity. This can restrict time available to "land" in Canada.

We're already here (TWP) and will only be flagpoling. As long as they'll issue the visa, I'll wait to renew - if anyone thinks there will be a problem / delay I'll renew now.

Thanks.
