Hi,
The application for Canadian immigration requires us to provide
the birth certificate. We do have our original Birth certs, but both
me and my wife don't have our names on it - just the name of our
parents, date/place of birth . Given the situation, I am not sure if
providing the birth cert adds any value.
Appreciate if someone who's had similar problem can share experience.
Thank you,

Just send copies. Most birth certificates do not have names of the bearer, just the parents. It is not your decision to judge if anything they ask for "adds any value". Follow instructions...
