PR processing after Invitation

Hi all,

We finally got our invitation to apply for PR under CEC, just waiting for police records and medical. Any up to date info on time frame from submitting completed checklist to receiving PR? We want to offer on a house but don't want to be stuck paying the 25% foreign buyers tax.

Thanks.

Re: PR processing after Invitation

CIC say the processing time is 19 months at the moment, it could be faster/slower depending on circumstances but figure that as a good ballpark.

Hello,

Applied under the FSW stream but received Biometrics request and Medical passed after only 12 days.

Seems applications are being processed much (much) quicker than what is posted on the portal. Consultants are also reporting back that applicants are receiving PR within 6 months or less

Best of luck!

So for tracking PR cases immitracker gives you a reasonable idea, obviously its not official and relies on people updating it, but at least gives you some real world guidelines, anecdotally the last people I know who got PR were around 4.5 months - but obviously you shouldn't base your timescales on a single case.

regarding foreign buyers tax - are you aware you can get a rebate for the tax once you get PR (has to be filed within 90days of becoming a PR)? you still need the funds to pay the tax, but at least they are only gone temporarily
