PR New Regulation

For now, how long can we stay outside of Canada without loosing PR
status? New regulations suggest as long we stay 3 years out of 6 we
are ok but this rule is not yet in effect. Right now is it stil 181
days of every year?

Also, how about applying for Citizenship, is it the same story?

Thank you.

The regulation is 2 years in 5 in Canada to retain PR. Citizenship is 3
years residency in 4 years before application, which could change under new
proposed legislation.

What about people who landed before the new rules became effective
e.g., Summer 2001?
