Default PR Granted

Residents of Canada.

You will be pleased/alarmed to know that our PR printouts came today so it looks like we are here to stay. The rough timeline was as follows:

Nova Scotia Nomination Program (Community Identified Stream) application sent this tim e last year, granted July 2008. PR application sent late Sept 2009. Call for medicals early December. Medical Early January. Call for passports early March, send them mid March. Passports arrived today.

Alert readers will see we dragged our heels a bit before sending PR applications, so our timeline of about 12 months could have easily been 9 if we had got our skates on.

For the record, the PR photos I sent were self-taken, edited on the computer and printed out at the local superstore. They were semi-glossy ie not completely matte and they seem to have been accepted. I was not asked for Canadian police reports, and my UK police reports were a little stale. I dont know if provincial nomination smooths things or not, I just know my application had a couple of rough edges that CIC has either not noticed or not cared about. Paranoia is a good thing when filling out the forms but some of you might be comforted to hear there appears to be some wiggle room.

Cheers

All of my OH's criminal checks were out dated, one by a year! And we had to cut the pics ourselves because they weren't the right size. Our application ended up at the Seattle office...maybe it depends on who gets it!
