From PR to Citizen - Mr. Miller, could you please shed some light?
Hello Mr. Miller,
Here is the step-wise process for becoming a Canadian citizen as I understand (please correct me, if I'm wrong): 1) Get the PR stamp on passport, land in Canada and perform necessary initial paperwork/formalities. 2) Stay in Canada for 1,095 days (3 years) out of 4 years immediately prceceding Canadian citizenship application 3) Apply for Canadian citizenship 4) Get the citizenship My question is: How much time does it take between steps 3 and 4? In other words, how long it usually takes for a Canadian PR to get Canadian citizenship after the application is filed? Thank you. Kismit |
Anywhere from 6 to 12+ months is my understanding. My process took around 9 months.

Expect about 12 months, assuming there is nothing 'abnormal'. -- Say "I am not American" in ELEVEN languages. The original "I am not American" T-shirts - as seen on CNN - designed and printed in Canada. From just $17 plus postage. http://www.iamnotamerican.com . New products featuring new logo also available. http://www.iamnotamerican.com Remove second 'dot' before '.com' to reply via Email. |
