PR Cards

PR Cards
One quick question, my apologies if it's been asked a 100 times.
We landed at YYZ on April 27th 2007, no problems getting through Immigration or Customs. My question is :"I gave the border official our hotel address we were staying at, at the time of me signing the forms. Is that the address our PR cards will be sent to?, we were only there for the week for us to land, we are now back in the UK returning permenantly in August".
If so, how do I cancel the cards being sent there?, and notify them of our permenant address?.
Your help would be much appreciated.

Re: PR Cards
Did the Immigration officer write the hotel address on the Confirmation of Permanent Residence form? (check the copy that the Immigration Officer stapled into your passport) If so then this is the address where your PR Cards will be sent.
Unfortunately your PR Cards will be sent out before you arrive permanently in August - ours were issued just under 2 weeks after we landed at Toronto Lester B Pearson Airport. If you have a friend in Canada (we used our realtors address and she mailed them to us) then you could try updating your address via the CIC website, otherwise you could contact the hotel and inform them that a letter or letters from CIC will be arriving and ask them nicely to accept the letter(s) and forward it or them to you.

Many thanks for your reply, I guessed that would be the case, so I called the hotel & asked them what you put in your reply (before you replied).Just to side on the air of caution.
Thanks for the reassurance though, it's much appreciated.
Next question is :"how do I change the address on the cards, when I get a permenant one?"

Re: PR Cards
The PR Card doesn't have any address printed on it so you don't need to change the address on it.
All that is printed on the front is your photo, your name, your nationality, date of birth, id no. and expiry date of the card. On the back is a data strip, your height, eye colour, country of birth, date and place you became a permanent resident, immigrant category, your photo, your pr card number.
Your PR Card will arrive in a white envelope with 2 windows. The top window will show the Citizenship and Immigration Canada logo and the following address: Case Processing Centre-PRC, P.O. Box 10020, Sydney, Nova Scotia, B1P 7C1. The bottom window will show your name and the hotel address.
