Re: PR Card timescales
Ooh ok then!
So, no probs at LAX, land at YVR ( they have new automated machines to scan your card _ v flash! ) But I digress!
Its my turn, I have realised by this time I havce chosen the wrong queue, I notice my guard is rather young and taking a long time with everyone _ hmmm anyway my turn:
Madam u do knnow you must travel witjout year pr card or a permit to travel?
Me: yes, but your officers told me when I landed in Aug that the copr is ok, LA cic were of no use and also rhe website says I don't actually need it.
Him_ no response but gives me my passport and customs paper back with no pr written on latter in red!
I trundle to the exit, give in my custom paper, about to leave:
Oh no madam , into immigrtion office, me: err ok (thinking buggery bollox)
Can't sit down in correct place as an arriving family have blocked all entrances to correct, get told off for sitting wrong row, where I then point out that I can't sit where they want me to cos I can't get there!
Sit down, (6 peeps there, but only 1 ahead of me as others being processed) one man being deported back to whence he came_ me starting to panic _ also desperate for a wee! 4 guards come out off coffee break _ other peeps in queue by then. Lady guard comes to see who is next, some cheeeky cow tries to jump in but I do the _ hmm no actually I am!
She looks at my stuff, hang on she says, pops off for a second, comes back and says:
Very sorry madam you can go, you shouldn't have been sent in, u r from a visa waiver country, no card required, we will have a chat with the officer that sent u in!
And off I trotted! Still desp foir a wee!

Good! I was worried that the story would end with them sending you to Tofino.
So the moral of the story is to always go to the WC before clearing immigration, especially when not everything is perfect...

Might have to send an email again..that seemed to get the wheels in motion last time.
We landed similar time, so might give my contact a buzz see if they have arrivd yet. Or may have to wait till mid Nov as you were first notified??
