I guess there is no harm in going to the CIC office and let them know that you got a call from them to pick it up.
If your card is ready, they will give i to you. If not, then naurally, they will tell you to wait.
But not going will definitely be not in your favour specially if 180 days have passed and you havent collected your PR card.
