Also I got a letter with regards to my Open Permit application. It said that our records show that you were issued a work permit in Vancouver and therefore we are not processing this application! So that was a waste of $150. I know I have a permit but I want to change its terms and conditions. So I give up on that as PR is so close now.

As Siouxie told you above (and as you said yourself), you're not eligible for a Bridging Open Work Permit as your current TWP doesn't expire until September. You can only apply for a BOWP if your current TWP will expire in 4 months or less, so that's why they won't process your application - you're simply not eligible for what you've applied for!

HTH.

Hi, it would be nice if a little more effort went into the response from CIC.
But my other worry was one of the BOWP criteria states that you have 'applied for an Open Work Permit' So now I defiantly meet all the requirements for BOWP.

No, you don't because your current TWP doesn't expire until September. You can only apply for a BOWP if you have less than 4 months left on your current permit.

Why not just wait until you get PR, it shouldn't be too long now.

To be fair to them, if they individualised every single response, processing times would increase dramatically - they simply don't have the manpower. If you applied for a visa you weren't eligible for and they processed the application and therefore kept the fee, then harsh as it sounds, it's not their fault.
