PPR's arrived!!!!!!!!!!!
#31

Quick tip.
If you have been waiting at least a reasonable time e.g 5-6 weeks, send an email saying 'sent my docs xx weeks ago, please can you tell me if you are waiting for anything else from me'.
I did this and I got a reply saying something like 'your file is still with a VO still waiting for review etc etc etc.....', then a few days later I got the email. May be coincidence but who knows.
Don't ask 'how long is it gonna be'. I read somewhere that that rubs them up the wrong way.
Good luck

Don't like to hassle CHC London unnecessarily, but how long would you guys advise until we follow LadySummer's / Rubie's tactic and send them a reminder "Do you need anything else from us?" kind of email?

Hmm our medical results arrived at CHC London 8 weeks ago and our RPRF+PCCs arrived at CHC London 5.5 weeks ago - still no PRRs yet (although on Monday our ECAS finally said "Medical results have been received").

Watching your timeline with interest as our medicals been with CHC now for 4 weeks, so will be good to see those PPR's come your way and hoping our's won't be too far behind.
On the docs the CHC sent with med forms it said about 2 months to process med's so Anytime after that could be chasing up time I reckon.
Our ECAS still doesn't say medicals rec'd no surprises there!!!
I know what you mean don't want to hassle them but just maybe a gentle nudge might nudge your case to the top of the pile to get a response.
Best of luck hope you hear very very soon.

Several members here a few weeks ago got PPR about 5 weeks after medical results were received by VO, so I suspect there's been a bit of a go-slow in the past few weeks.
Interestingly, another forum member from canadavisa.com with very similar timelines to mine had the "Medical results have been received" added to ECAS at the exact same time as me.
So my suspicion is that this actually means "Medical results have been approved" and that there has been a delay recently with the medicals approval system. I know London having its own medical services division ends up approving medical results for other visa offices, so they may have had a bit of an influx lately.

Hi - ok it's good to share timelines. Yeah our ECAS took 7.5 weeks to say "Medical results have been received" so little point in relying on ECAS.

I sometimes think you can read too much into what ECAS says.
Good luck.

I have to say I agree with this. Take e-cas with a pinch of salt. It seems to working for some but not others. When we e-mailed chc for our file number back in November and checked on e-cas, our status was "in process". Shortly before Christmas the "in process" disappeared and hasn't been replaced with anything else since! All e-cas shows is our address and the name of the primary applicant - nothing else. I am not holding my breath that it'll be changing to "medicals received" either and therefore choose not to check it now.

argh!!! And the rollercoaster takes another lurch! Checked email tonight... there was one from London! Subject was 'application.....'! My stomach jumps into my mouth... I click to read.... and it is a request for RPRF! Which we sent a couple of weeks ago!
I can't believe it.
I sent it special delivery, and it was confirmed received online but of course I can't find the receipt now to check *again* and make myself feel better. They did say in their email:
"We are currently receiving significant quantities of incoming mail at the High Commission in London. I therefore apologise if you have already submitted the payment."
so I'm just hoping it is there, as it's supposed to be, and we'll get a better email soon!
argh stupid post.... that could have been an amazing email and it wasn't...!

OK so now I can't find the post office receipt anywhere, and even though I know I checked it before and it had been received I'm getting neurotic! So I tried calling my bank to ask if the bank draft had been cashed, and got the thickest call centre employee who clearly had no idea about bank drafts at all and was absolutely no help. Not even sure if they will be able to tell me if it's been cashed, because the money came out of my account when I bought the draft.
Argh....
Argh....

Oh Izzi how frustrating!
My mum did her medicals nearly the same time as you, and she received a letter from CIC on Saturday past. It said - "We have returned your bankers draft as you paid your RPRF in February"
She knew she had already paid it, but as they had indicated on the medical request letter that she had to send the payment, she had not chanced it and sent it again.
Then the letter continued "Please resend the RPRF, if you do not resend in the next 45 days we will presume that your case is to be closed" - or words to that effect.
Come on CIC - get a grip; the process is frustrating enough as it is !!!!

wow that's even worse than mine! It's scary that it seems so disorganised when it is such an important role they play, and that it's so important to people in the process!
I'm trying to look upon it as a good sign (trying!) because it means the medicals are there, probably means the medicals are OK, and the last thing they need to tie together is the payment which I know they received. So hopefully it actually means we're going to hear soon....
(I have to start thinking like this or I'll go mad!)

Then when we sent RPRF/PCCs the post office lost our package - turned out in the end it never left the post office branch we'd handed it over to!
So I was rather hoping that was the end of our bad luck run for this part of the process. But it's over 8 weeks since our medical results arrived at visa office, and what do they say about bad things happening in threes?.....
