Default PPR is that the final hurdle?

Once you get a Passport request, is that the end of it? Or are there still things that can go wrong?

Pretty much it. As long as you have correct landing funds and paperwork and manage to land within 1 year of your medicals.

Also there's a small chance your photos won't be acceptable for PR card and have to send new ones or go to Canada to get new ones taken.

But once you get PPR just a question of waiting for "DECISION MADE" on your e-case and waiting for your visas, and booking your plane to land

Wayne.

I can't see me waiting for ECAS to be updated, just the Visa will do!
