Potential problem for PR application?
Hello,
I would just like to ask. Would my application for PR be affected if my current employer closes business and Embassy can't get in touch with them to verify my employment certificate? I have already submitted completed application for PR with employment certificate/reference from employer but I do not know if this is enough or if the Embassy would really want to call them to verify that I am employed there. My application is almost 1 year old already. What is my solution to this problem? I don't find anywhere information that I should update the Embassy about this particular case that my employer will be closing business. I already recieved initial assessment saying I will be interviewed. How should I explain this to the officer at interview that this is the case. I will most definitely be getting new job once they close office and I am sure before interview but I do not know if this new job experience will be considered or disregarded. Needless to say I am really worried about this. Are they going to refuse my application on the grounds they cannot contact my employer anymore? Any information regarding this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. |

What is my solution to this problem? ---NO problem I don't find anywhere information that I should update the Embassy about this particular case that my employer will be closing business. ------ nothing to update, at the time of interview if they ask then inform that XYZ company is closed and CIC or Canada High commission has no right to ask why the company is closed, if they want it to be running let Canada government help the owner to run the company Canada immigration collects enough funds from immigrants and take 18-24 months for approval and many cases are rejected and fees is not retuned , Canada earn enough from immigrants as fees then reject 50% cases and keep the money even those who get PR of Canada dont find any jobs in Canada, Canada immigration is big scam I already recieved initial assessment saying I will be interviewed. For exact same reason my case was scheduled for an interview, and it is going to be a big long wait,
Comming to point , you should be able to convince that your experience is genuine, If possible you can get a letter from the employer that he closed his business, other options are the taxes /w2 you paid during that period, and I believe your collegues who worked with you can give a Experience certificiate, Like your immediate manager etc, |

If it happens then you need to bring conclusive evidence for the interview - your pay slips, contract, etc., showing that you really worked and other evidence that company really existed when you claim working there.

Would Tax Returns alone suffice? I have Tax Returns for all years I worked here. But I no longer have all payslips since start. I do have some of the recent and not so recent ones. There was no contract. Companies here, except maybe the really large ones, don't really have employement contracts when they hire employees. They just hire you. Also, in the event the company will not give me photocopies of their business registration and docs for whatever their reason. I don't know why but I have feeling they won't. Maybe theyre scared I will use those docs for something else. I did try asking before when company still good. Maybe they won't mind this time since they're closing anyway. Anyway, Would it be possible for me to just direct officer to website of Securities and Exchange Commision, make them search said company to prove they had indeed been registered and in operation in those dates i worked there? Or they could call SEC too if they wanted. Thank you. If you are still currently employed and are they still trading? get the evidence now, I dont know where you are but they must be registered somewhere, for tax as a company. keep all your pay slips till you finish, keep all your end of year tax documents from them and the tax authorities (IRS?), keep letters of termination of employment, and ask for letters of reference for future employment before you leave, are unions involved? use them to support you. Is the whole company failing and closing or just your location / branch, is ther a head office remaining open. Who were your companies customers or suppliers, do you have relationships with people in either who can support the fact that you worked for xyz company etc. Give the immigtation people some options to help them check you out kepp in close touch with current work collueges and your current management after the company closes, ask them for personal reference letters from your time with current company and ask them to supply contact numbers or detail of thier new companies where they work and pass this on in a cover letter. I would suspect that the most important thisng is to not make this a problem, find ways of defing the solution and keep your application uptodate with changes in curcimstances so that there are no supprises when your interview happens. No one likes to loose thier job and an infromed visa officer with options to verify your work experience through former collueges will probably be more favourable to you than one who is not kept in the picture, and cannot verify your claims, I cant belive this is not an unknown situation, if you leave it till interview and say the company closed and you have nothing to offer to suport your experince then it's probably goodbye PR Visa. And as (love him or hate him) Andrew Miller often states, keep to the facts, tell the truth, show resoursefulness and keep CHC informed with covering letters and options to call origional refernce on a new number or new refernces etc. |
