Default Is it possible to personally take the passports to Buffalo CIC ?

A question that has come up more than once in this Forum. The latest being
from ZAK

"Is it possible to personally take the passports to Buffalo CIC and get
the visas stamped in a couple of days if one cannot wait that long. I
am especially thinking of situations when one needs one's passport to
travel for business purposes frequently"

Anybody ?

My understanding is that it is possible to take the passports to Buffalo for
visa issuance. It seems that there is a two day delay until the visaed
passports are returned.

Default Yes u can but.....

Yes u certainly can take oyur passports to Buffalo or the NY city consulate but they haveto give you that option. In my case I was asked if I wanted to send them by mail or would I like to come and get it stamped. At that point I opted to go and get it stamped. They then sent me a date on which i can go and get it stamped. It was relatively quick and only he primary applicant has to go in the consulate. They do ask you a few questions even then I beleive to confirm that you are the person for sure. So I think you will have to ask the consualte if you can go there personally and when can you go.

All the Best!

Things have improved I see.
Much faster than their original planned operation.

I'm planning to go to Buffalo in person since they didn't state in the
letter that I can go to NY City's counsulate. Can you tell me what
kind of questions that they asked you? Thank You.

They just asked me where i work currently. where did I graduate from, where was I born. It did not take long at all but I would advice you to call up the consulate before you go as I understand from my process that passports are all stamped at the NY city consualte and not at Buffalo

Best of Luck!
