My nephew is an international visa student studying in a college (ESL program), but
she decides to switch to another much better college in another province. Will this
make her visa/Student Authorization invalid? What should she do in order to study
legally in another college?

Thanks a lot.

She can apply to other college. I changed colleges, and the college I joined did not
tell me to change the college name on the student authorization, it was fine. But I
have heard that one has to inform the immigration that the schools have been changed

Hi:

If there is a condition on his student visa, then your nephew will have to
inform CIC.

If your nephew is studying in an ESL program that does not require a student visa,
then he does not have to inform CIC.

Yours truly, Ingrid Y. Chen, B.A., LL.B.

If the college is named on the Student Authorization and there are terms and
conditions that he must only study at the named college than you have to pay the $125
and apply for a new Stdent Authorization. I suggest you study the SA carefully.

I am pleased to see that Rajeev of the Ministry of Misinformation is alive and well

First, your nephew is "he", your nice is "she". If he/she is going to transfer to
another college, he/she should consult with the international director of both
schools. They should be able to tell him/her what process he/she has to go through.
I've seen my friend did this, so a short answer is "yes".
