I sent off what I think was my police clearence form at least 6 weeks ago and have heard nothing. Is this usual, who do I contact I have yet to find a human being at the Canadian embassy in London - should I send off another one??, also on the same lines, I did 6 months in Australia in 1990 but moved around every few days - I have used my permanent British address for the police form but dont want to be caught out if im supposed to apply for police clearence in canada.

Help I need a human voice on the end of the phone.

Here it helps to provide details such as the category of your application and the date you submitted it. It seems you should also get an Aussie police certificate as you spent 6 months there. The CHC will not/not help you through the process. They do not have the time and thus no telepnone calls are entertained. You best resource is to read the guide appropriate for your type of visa, as can be found at the CIC website www.cic.gc.ca
