Default Police Checks

Hi Guys,

Haven't posted in a long time. Just received med requests (AOR Jan 05, 90 day letter December 06) with updated police checks needed.

Here's my question - When I applied in 2004 I sent off both scottish and english police checks (I am scottish but have lived in England). I haven't lived in England since I applied so does this mean that I only need to update the scottish police check because the english one won't have changed because I hadn't lived there since 2000. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for your replies guys

As far as I remember you only have to provide updated Certificates for the Countries you have lived in Since submitting your last ones.So In your case just the Scottish one

Agree with Zoe, at least that's what we done and it worked out OK.
Good luck with the rest of the process.

I lived in Scotland all my life and submitted my Police Check request to the Metropolitan Police both times going back full 10 years as stated on the form. All Police checks are done through a central Police National Computer (PNC) which covers all the UK anyway.

If you have lived abroad then you would have to apply there for a separate police check too.

Don't know why anyone should have to apply to 2 different police forces within the UK. Just list all previous addresses on the one form. Save yourself the hassle plus 10 GBP per person.
