Smile Police certificates for PR

Hi all
You've probably had this thread posted many times, so I apologize.

My common law wife has worked in 3 countries, china, UAE and Libya. She spent 2 years roughly in each country although she never stayed for more than three months at a time in the countries due to the school holidays, Eg: jan, feb, march in china then 3 weeks holiday back in the UK, back to work for 3 months, then holiday for 2-3 weeks in the UK and so on. So as she has not spent more than 3 consecutive months in the country she was working in, does she still need a police certificate. I have contacted CIC and they just say to get the PC, however this is easy said than done. Our UK pc has arrived but after 4 months we are still waiting on china, and the UAE hasn't even got past the first stage. By the time they all arrive the UK will be out of date. This red tape is so frustrating as we not have 10 more weeks to get our paperwork to buffalo.
Please help.

She needs to get the PCs. So get on with it in spite of the great inconvenience. The fact that the stays were broken up by short intervals is of no consequence.

Thanks for your reply.

What about this 3 month rule on her PC, it's taking so long for UAE and China pc to be sorted UK will expire, and as for Libya, they won't help, the embassy in Ottawa will not issue them because of recent events. Could we explain all this in a letter to buffalo and will they understand?

I am just guessing that your wife is a teacher? There is an address for the Police certificate for every country listed. If she was indeed a teacher, contact the Head of the school in the country and ask them to process it for her. Libya is presently a bit traumatic but things are getting back to normal, certainly the American school has re-opened. Again with the Gulf there should be no problem, the Gulf is slow, but again the school or company that your wife worked for will have a person who does nothing but gets clearances and sorts out papers, they could speed this up considerably by going there direct.
