Default Points and Forms

Hello,

I have a temporary job offer in Canada for 1 yr which has passed the LMO. So I'm looking at getting the right permits / visas.

The bigest question is that I have 3 points for speeding (2 yrs ago, 70 in 60mph). It wasn't on-the-spot and I was given the fine/points in a mag. court at a pre-trial hearing (for technical reasons). From some other posts I gather that speeding is not a criminal offence in Canada but how does this relate to the application form? Do I need to fill in speeding on the criminal convitions section and if so do I need to seek rehabilitation? If so, is starting in Feb a timescale problem?

Also, can I stay for the time that I am in Canada without a temporary residant permit?

Thanks for your help!

1. Speeding is not a criminal code offence in Canada, therefor does not have to be declared, so rehab is not required.
2. Yes. TRPs are only for those persons who are inadmissible to Canada.
