Default PNP what visa Office to use

I have got Provincial from AINP. I called AINP for what to do weather to apply to Visa office instructed on letter or to apply to CIO nova scotia. AINP said to apply to Visa office instructed but the guy at AINP was confused. So need to conform what to do now.

PMM replied to a similar query yesterday. The new rule is to apply to the CIO apparently.

See also thread by Manitobain from yesterday:

Effective Dec. 1, all provincial nominees must submit their permanent resident applications to CIC's new centralized intake unit in Sydney, N.S.

Other changes CIC has made to the permanent resident visa application process include:

•a unified document checklist for all provincial nominees, regardless of their country of residence. This checklist is online at CIC.
•Provincial nominees must include their processing fee at the time they send their application to the centralized intake office.
•CIC has introduced additional payment options for provincial nominee applicants, including credit card payment. For more information on processing fee payment options visit CIC.

Details on CIC's processing procedures of permanent resident applications submitted by provincial nominees are explained on its website at: cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/apply-application.asp.

This means, now education and work experience has to be another time proven, an additional travel form to be filled out...more hassle for the same thing...

to keep things more confusing, there is a grace period up to the end of March, in which theoretically you still can apply to the then assigned visa office with the then check list (this is the info I got from the MPNP officers), yet...if the visa office doesn't want to accept your application anymore, you seem to be out of luck
VERY confusing at the moment.

The following statement from CIC doesn't say anything about a grace period.

6. Submit your application.

Mail your application and your fee to the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia (Canada). For more detailed information, including courier and mailing addresses, consult the provincial nominee application package.

Do not submit your application to the visa office responsible for your country of nationality or residence.

There is a grace period for using the old forms and that is about it.

There is no grace period for sending packs - they have to go to CIO Sydney as of 1st December.

CIC CHANGES PERMANENT RESIDENT APPLICATION PROCESS

Citizenship and Immigration Canada has changed how it processes permanent resident visa applications submitted by provincial nominees.

Effective Dec. 1, all provincial nominees must submit their permanent resident applications to CIC's new centralized intake unit in Sydney, N.S.

CIC will continue to accept applications at visa offices until March 31.

However, Manitoba nominees are strongly encouraged to submit their permanent resident visa applications to CIC's new centralized intake office.

Manitoba Immigration has updated the approval package we send to provincial nominees to reflect the changes to CIC's processes.

Taken from the CIC.GC.CA site:

As of December 1, 2011, if you are applying under the Provincial Nominee Program, you must submit your application to the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Once you have gathered all required forms and documents listed in the Document Checklist, send your application to:

Citizenship and Immigration
Provincial Nominee Program
Centralized Intake Office
PO Box 1450
Sydney, Nova Scotia
B1P 6K5
Canada

If the CIO determines that your application is complete, it will be sent to the appropriate CIC processing office for processing. The processing office will contact you for further documentation once they are ready to process your application.

If your application does not include all of the documents and forms set out in the checklist, CIC will return it to you. Do not provide documents which are not listed in the checklist.

Note: Applications that were sent prior to December 1, 2011 and that are received on or after this date at the visa office will be processed by the office as long they are complete.

So no grace period, but for packs mailed BEFORE 1st December that were already enroute to local processing offices.
