Please help me on one point on PR application form?

hey,
i am filling my PR appliaction form under SW but i got one confusion. There is a question on form that where you intend to stay in canada? My problem is that i don't know where i will stay in canada. I have been to toronto this year, i like that city but you never know? some people say british coloumbia is very nice place to live. but anyway i am a construction engineer, so can someone tell me it will be better for me to write down some less devolped place than toronto as my answer or is there any other place which is suitable for my profession and this can make my application process bit faster? please tell me which place should i write?

Yes it is a good idea to give an address of a friend or family member so they know you're not begging on the streets! look at all the accomodation sites - like craigslist etc and see if you can get some idea of where to live . I only know BC and Vancouver in particular - engineers of every description are always needed.
keep keying in key words into your browser - google it and research research research everything you need to know until you get a an idea of what type of place Vancouver is for example - here are a few sites to start you off - www.seevancouver.com ; www.cityofburnaby.bc.ca www.prfilm.ca just about every city has a website, from which you can gain alot of knowledge of the area, using pdf files etc. look at all the immigration sites and some of the lawyer sites are easy to read - try www.canadavisa.com or www.immigrationexpert.com
Good luck! Hilary:)

Hi,

Putting down a specific place in Canada will not speed up the process:(. The only way to really speed the process up is to obtain an offer of enployment and use the WP or PNP route into Canada. Thats what many on this forum including myself are doing:)

As far as I remember when we filled ours in and things haven't changed, it doesn't matter what province you put down..as long as its not Quebec. .....

I wonder why they even ask this question on the forms?
But as woofwoof says, put anything other than Quebec. As far as I know they never ask about it again (unless they do so if they interview you?).

BTW there are slightly different rules about applying to Quebec. But once you land as a PR in any other Province, you are free to live in Quebec anyway. Odd system I know ;)

Probably just for statistical purposes, and maybe so they can figure out which provinces need more help in attracting immigrants.
