Default Please advise: Catholic or Public school in Canada?

Hello friends,

We are new landed immigrants in Canada and recently we have settled
in Toronto. We have to enrol our 12 years old son in a school. In the
neighbourhood we have a public and a catholic school. We are not sure
which one is the best for the future development of the child. I mean
better preparation for high school and college.
Can someone advise us on the matter: Catholic or public school in
Canada?
We would appreciate any advice on the matter.

Thanks and regards

Todor

Remember one thing a Catholic school does not mean it is a private school.
There are Public Schools, Private Schools and you can also find Catholic
Schools (Non-private) and Private Catholic schools (no too many around).

If you send your children to Roman Catholic schools they will simply
be educated in a Roman Catholic environment.

A Protestant friend of mine had to go to a Roman Catholic school
because it was nearby, and it created a lot of tension with her
parents because she began to admire Roman Catholicism so much that she
wanted to convert. I doubt it was any extraordinary quality of the
school that influenced her so much as a desire to be like her friends.
