Default PIN # but no File # ??

Hello All,

I applied in the independent cat. on Oct, 2001, received a letter on Dec 10, 2001 from CIC with my PIN number but no file number. It was mentioned in the letter that for security reasons, they will provide the file # in another correspondence which never happened, I contacted CIC last week and they replied that if I have not received a letter of acknowledgment from CIC, means they have not assigned a file # to my case ? it's been more than 8 months now, shouldn't I get a file # at least ?
Any body has similar experience, please share... thanx.

Andrew/David,
Have you guys come across anything like this before ?

Hi:

You should have received your Acknowledgment of receipt letter from CIC. You may want
to fax a letter inquiring into the status of your file.

Yours truly, Ingrid Y. Chen, B.A., LL.B.
