Default Physiotherapy registration

Hi,

Does anyone reading this have any info for us on the physio registration process for Alberta. Specifically, would you recommend using a physio recruitment agency, and if so, who? (we're aware of the requirements re: exams etc). Or any other advice would be really appreciated.

My husband is a physio with over 5 yrs' work experience so we're eligible for the permanent residency route. We've been in Christchurch, NZ for the last six years, where we have permanent residency. However 3 major earthquakes, with a 1/3 chance of another one, a fallen down city and no sewage mean that very sadly we want to leave. And pretty quickly! We're not keen to go back to UK, and can't afford to go to UK to wait out for Canada. So we're really after any info that might help us do things as soon as possible.

Thanks.

Have you already applied for, and received, Permanent Residency? Just that you say you want to go to Canada asap, but you haven't mentioned having PR, so presumably you're aware that will take at least a year from the time you applied?

Also, if you haven't yet applied, then don't forget that the list of eligible occupations may change on 1st July, so keep an eye on it to be sure you can still apply after that.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.
