Default The photos for PR card application.Need confirmation from experts

Dear all:

I am considering the application. I heard from somebody that the photos
must be taken in canada with stamps on the back of photos. Is that true?
If things like that, we must return canada for application submission.

Thx

PR Card application must be submitted in Canada and Card must be picked up in
person from CIC office. In addition note that you must have a proper guarantor
in Canada signing your application as well.

I looked thru the forms and I dont see anywwhere that specifically says the photos have to be taken in Canada. However, I did notice that the application asks for your Residential address in Canada and your mailing address in Canada. It does not provide any spaces for an address outside of Canada. So I would assume that means they will not mail the PR card to you in another country.

Dear Andrew Miller:

So, can I relegate to an immigration lawyer, who can submit my
application in canada, I can mail him my photos from abroad. As I know,
if I can not get a suitable person as my guarantor, I can ask solemn
declaration(oath) insteading of a guarantor? true?

Thx.

Why going through all this hassle in the first place? Any valid reason? Just
apply for PR Card once you return to Canada for good, you don't need it for any
reason while abroad.

A declaration in lieu of guarantor has to be notarized in Canada - how you
gonna do that?

you reallyneed to submit it in Canada. the photographs have to have the
details specified written on teh back when taken. yoru solem vow has to
still be witnessed by a notary in Canada when you sign it. you jsut arent
allowed to do it from outside Canada, it says quite clearly.

Your guarantor a or the person who witnesses your signature in lieu of
guarantor must be in Canada. Ergo... you must be in Cnaada to file the
application. What part of the intructions do you not understand.

You would be committing a fraud by doing this. The instruction for PR Card
application (document 5445E.pdf) clearly states the following on page 3:

---------------------------------------------------------------
To be eligible for a PR Card:

An applicant must:

- be a permanent resident of Canada;
- must be physically present in Canada;
- not be under an effective removal order; and
- not be a Canadian citizen.
---------------------------------------------------------------

Is it that hard to understand "must be physically present in Canada"
requirement????

Thx for all experts, I understand it clearly now. It seems I must be in
canada to submit it.
