Default Personal items returned?

I have a question for anyone who has been through the Family Class / Spousal route. When CHC London have finished processing your application, do they return any of the personal items you submitted as proof of your relationship? I was thinking of letters, cards, photographs etc.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
Kev.

I didn't get anything back, not too bothered though, only sent 1 photo, flight ticket stubs, a couple of bills - nothing of sentimental importance to me.

I did get half the stuff back from London from my citizenship application, but nothing back from this application at all.

Although probably not necessary, we sent a whole load of stuff - some of which we really would like back because of the sentimental value. I just wasn't sure if CHC London had a policy of automatically returning items.

On another note - I know things take as long as they take, and each application is different, but do you know roughly how long it would take to receive the AOR from London after the PR application is sent from Mississauga? Mississauga sent my application to London on 27 May after approving my wife as sponsor.

It may be that they realised my few things were not important, if they had a whole bunch of personal items I'd hope they'd show some gumption and send them back to you automatically. Or as Jim says, you could always ask if not.

From memory it was maybe 2-3wks before we got a blue postcard from London. I think some people here recently haven't ever received such a card so don't worry too much. Our eCAS showed "In process" under the London (PR) side of things pretty quickly so we knew it was there long before the postcard came, although irritatingly it never changed again until after the visa was issued.

Good luck, London seem to be still pretty swift in Snape's recent timeline

Thanks for the info. eCas still shows "Not Available" but hopefully it will change soon. It's funny - after reading previous posts I promised myself that I wouldn't get hooked on checking eCas, but like so many others I now check it too often for my own good! How many other people out there can check eCas without having to refer to any documents for File Number or Receipt Number?
