Default Permanent Resident status granted and what next?

Wow looks like I made it. All I have to do now is to send my passport to the embassy and get the proper visa. What is next? How does it work and do I have to find my self address somewhere in Canada so I can get plastic card - Permanent Resident? If I go to Canada will someone in the airport pull me on the side and hold an interview? Silly questions but I just wonder. I live in UK now and this is going to be quite a change to me but I will go for it. Hope one of you gentlemen can answer my questions. Thank you

Regards,
Thomas Ravick

Yes. You either give an address at the airport, or fill out a form later once you have a permanent address.

After they stamp your passport at the usual immigration desk they'll tell you to go to the immigration office for the rest of the paperwork processing; in my case that took five minutes, but in a busy airport it may mean an hour or more of waiting, and then might just require asking you a few questions or might involve a full interview.

Once that's done, you'll want to get the 'goods to follow' form stamped and then you may or may not be pulled over in the customs area for them to check the things you're bringing in with you.
