Default Passports Lost , Need Help

My wife and me were in downtown Vancouver when somebody broke our car
and stole away my wife's purse containing our Indian Passports ,
Landed immigrant Papers and US h1 and H4 Visa stamped on them
respectively . My wife also lost her PR card .

We filed a Police complaint with Vancouver Police and came back to US
on "Single entry Waiver of Passport and Visa" . How do we go about now
to get our Indian, canadian immigrant status and US visas Back .

We are in washington State . Is it okie to go to San Francisco Indian
consulate to apply for our replacement passports . Luckily we have
photocopies for all these documents .

Please advise what we should do .

Thanks for you help in this time of need

When my US passport was stolen. I just went to the immigration office in
Ottawa, they charged me 30$ and I had my paperwork mailed to me and it only
took about 2 weeks. 30 CAD dollars is what it cost. They sent me a copy
printed on legal sized paper what was stamped and certified. I just replaced
it in my passport.

Best of luck!

Once you get PR card of your wife, Visit the Indian Consulate in Vancouver
if you can, that would be better, as you will need a passport to Travel
(pass through the port of USA :-)

Consulate General of India
325 Howe Street, 2nd Floor
VANCOUVER, B.C. V6C 1Z7
Telephone: (604) 662-8811
Fax: (604) 682-2471
Telex: 04-508415
Email: [email protected], [email protected]

Once you have your passport, then you will need to apply for replacement
H1B, etc. visa, which each have a form and Fees to get duplicates of.
Best of Luck,

Thanks Deepak for you invaluabel Advice .

We had preferred to enter US from canada as My passport was issued
from San Francisco and also all our photocopies of passport and
visas were with our employer in seattle . So are going next week to SF
and applying for our passports .

We also spoke to seattle consulate and they said we can apply for our
certified replacement copy of IMM 1000 with them and it would take
them 8-12 weeks to get it from Ottawa.

We would then apply for an appointment to US vancouver consulate to
get stamping of our visas again .

Question :I am expecting my PR card anytime in the next couple of
weeks . If I get my Indian passport , can I enter canada without the
landing doc from the border . I have a canadian registered
car, canadian driving license and copies of all Taxes including this
year.
