Default Passports

For express entry
Currently our passports are in date ..expire September 2017
We have till end of may 2017 to submit so in theory we have current passports... but do we need to renew now in order to submit our application or will IRCC ask for proof of updated passports if we are accepted at a later date
TIA

Don't know the answer to your question but when you renew, you can have up to 9 months from the old passport 'carried forward' on to the new one.

I don't know the answer, but if it were me, I would definitely renew now - one less thing to worry about later!

I would renew as well as by the time you get the COPR forms the initial passport would be expired or nearly expiring and the COPR form would not be valid past the expiry date of the passport details you initially gave.
Renew now and then supply IRCC with the new passport details when submitting EE.

When you get your passport or passport copy request for COPR issuance, it states on the instructions that you need at least 6 months validity on your passport.

Passport renewal only takes a few days now - even from Canada.

I got mine back in less than a week from the day I posted them in Canada.
